The monthly program
How the food program works.
The records begin in August 2025 with 12 families in Siwa. The Siwa program grew to 18 families in September, 23 in October and 25 in November. Ten families in Borg El Arab were added in December 2025. As of August 2026, the program supports 35 families in Siwa and 10 in Borg El Arab each month.
Monthly food support can help families set aside more of their income for rent, medicine, transportation and school costs.
Volunteers compare local prices and buy essential groceries.
Packages are prepared locally for the families being supported.
Ongoing relationships help the program respond when needs change.
Program growth

The monthly record shows the program’s growth during its first year and the 45 families currently supported.
Within four months, the Siwa program had grown to 135 people, including 22 widows and 94 children. The monthly cost was $750.
Ten families in Borg El Arab joined the program, bringing the total to 35 families and the combined monthly cost to $1,050.

Salsabeel also organizes special distributions during Ramadan and before Eid. Volunteers prepare food hampers with core staples and direct them to households facing the greatest financial pressure.
Nehal Azab supported food distributions before Salsabeel became a registered charity. Local volunteers continue to help organize this seasonal work.
