Salsabeel is a Canadian registered charity founded by Egyptian-Canadian mother-and-son team Nehal Azab and Eiad El Fateh. We provide direct food, education and medical assistance to people facing hardship in Egypt. The organization was incorporated in 2022 and received registered charitable status in 2024.

Salsabeel is the name of a spring in paradise described in the Qur’an. We chose it because it evokes purity, generosity and relief—values that reflect our goal of bringing direct, life-giving support to people in need.

We are small, entirely volunteer-run and closely connected to the communities we serve. We work through trusted local relationships, keep the process personal and direct, and direct 100% of every donation to beneficiaries. Our founders personally pay the charity’s administrative expenses.

Our main areas of work are food security, education and medical assistance. Current initiatives include monthly grocery support through our Mobile Food Bank, Ramadan and Eid food distributions, school-fee assistance, post-secondary bursaries, and help with essential medical care. Our work is currently focused in Egypt, particularly in Siwa Oasis, Borg El Arab and Al Manial in Cairo. Each connection is rooted in trusted relationships and local knowledge.

Trusted volunteers and community contacts help us understand local circumstances and identify households facing genuine financial hardship. We prioritize practical need and work to provide assistance consistently, respectfully and without unnecessary barriers.

Local volunteers coordinate purchases, prepare food bags and deliver assistance in the communities where they live. Their knowledge helps us secure good value from local vendors and reach people directly. You can meet some of them on our Volunteers page.

We treat assistance as a relationship built on respect, not as a transaction. Local volunteers deliver support discreetly, listen to each household’s circumstances and avoid unnecessary publicity. We share stories only when appropriate and place dignity ahead of promotion.

Yes. Every dollar donated to Salsabeel is used to support beneficiaries. Our founders cover administrative costs—including incorporation, website and other operating expenses—so those costs are not deducted from donations.

You can donate by debit or credit card through PayPal. Canadian donors may also give by Interac e-transfer to eiad@salsabeelcharity.org. Visit our Donate page for complete instructions.

Yes. As a Canadian registered charity, Salsabeel issues official donation receipts for eligible gifts. If you donate by e-transfer, please include your full name, mailing address and email address so we can prepare your receipt. Receipts are normally issued within one week.

Yes. As a small charity, we can often accommodate requests to support a particular program or community. Email eiad@salsabeelcharity.org before or after donating and tell us what matters most to you. If a request cannot be fulfilled as intended, we will contact you.

Yes. Salsabeel accepts zakat and directs it to eligible people in need. Please identify your gift as zakat when donating or email us so we can record and allocate it appropriately.
