We at Salsabeel believe in the power of direct giving. By providing financial aid, food, and medical support, we ensure that Egypt’s most vulnerable people receive the help they need—quickly and without barriers. Every donation goes straight to those in need, making a real difference in their lives.
Values
At Salsabeel, we are guided by direct action, transparency, and compassion. By eliminating intermediaries, we ensure that 100% of donations go directly to those in need. To uphold this commitment, Eiad and Nehal personally cover all administrative costs, including website hosting and incorporation fees.
Vision
Looking ahead, we aim to expand our programs beyond direct aid—providing skills training and educational opportunities that empower people to support themselves. We also aspire to extend our reach beyond Egypt, bringing our model of direct, transparent giving to other communities in need around the world.
History
Salsabeel began as Nehal’s vision to help those facing hardship in Egypt. What started as individual acts of giving grew into a collective effort, leading to the incorporation of our non-profit in 2022. To expand our impact, we officially registered as a charity under the Canadian Income Tax Act in 2024.
Medical care
Salsabeel Charity helps in healthcare by providing essential medical assistance to those in need. Our efforts include funding for medical tests, facilitating transportation to healthcare facilities, and arranging necessary appointments. We are dedicated to ensuring that every individual receives timely and compassionate medical care. Looking towards the future, we aspire to expand our support to include direct financial aid for medical care, furthering our commitment to improving the health and well-being of our communities.
Education
Salsabeel Charity is dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities for the youth of Egypt by providing essential supplies. Our support includes the distribution of laptops, textbooks, and other necessary educational materials. By equipping students with these tools, we are enabling them to access a wealth of knowledge and learning experiences. This initiative is part of our broader commitment to nurturing the intellectual growth and potential of young learners, helping them to succeed academically and contribute to their communities.
Food
Salsabeel Charity addresses food insecurity by providing nourishing meals to underprivileged communities. Our initiative focuses on ensuring access to healthy, wholesome food, which is fundamental to fostering well-being and vitality. We are committed to alleviating hunger and promoting nutritional health, especially among the most vulnerable populations. By distributing nutritious meals, we not only feed bodies but also nurture hope, helping to build a stronger, healthier future for those we serve.

About our Founders
Nehal Azab - Mother
Nehal Azab was born and raised in Egypt and holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Cairo University. She immigrated to Canada in the late 1980s and has lived in British Columbia for more than 35 years. A dedicated mother of three, Nehal built her career supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities while raising her family and remaining active in her community.
She co-founded Salsabeel Charity with her son to provide direct aid to vulnerable people in Egypt and has volunteered for several years at the Abbotsford Food Bank. A passionate runner, she completed her first (and last) marathon in 2025 to raise funds for Salsabeel. In retirement, she continues to combine her love of travel, community service, and giving back to others.
Eiad El Fateh - Son
Eiad El Fateh was born in Egypt and raised in Canada. He co-founded Salsabeel Charity with his mother to provide direct aid and educational support to vulnerable families and students in Egypt. In addition to his charitable work, he volunteers with organizations that mentor recent graduates and early-career professionals pursuing public service and policy careers.
Eiad holds a Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia and a Master’s degree in Economics from Queen’s University. He currently serves as Director of Indigenous and External Engagement at Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada, where he leads work on Indigenous housing initiatives. An avid traveller and runner, he has visited more than 30 countries and has completed 5 marathons.
Our Liasion in Siwa
Omar Diab
Omar Diab, a vibrant young leader, embodies the spirit of Siwa Oasis. Born and raised in this ancient community where his family roots run deep, he is deeply connected to his heritage and passionate about sharing the wonders of his homeland. A graduate of the University of Alexandria, he returned to Siwa to contribute to its growth. As a knowledgeable guide and skilled hotel manager, Omar welcomes visitors with warmth, revealing Siwa’s hidden treasures.
Omar’s chance encounter with Nehal Azab, co-founder of Salsabeel Charity, forged a connection that transcended borders. Their shared passion for community and philanthropy has blossomed into a fruitful partnership, bridging Canada and Egypt. Fluent in Arabic, English, and Siwi, his local Amazigh language, Omar’s linguistic talents enhance his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. His community-minded nature, friendly demeanor, and adventurous spirit make him an invaluable asset to both Siwa and Salsabeel Charity.
